Guthrie Green Recognized by APA as One of the “Great Public Places”
Thousands of Tulsans flock to Guthrie Green for concerts, festivals, and public events every year. Since its grand opening in 2012, Guthrie Green has become a prominent and beloved public place for citizens to gather and enjoy a variety of entertainment and activities at their leisure.
Guthrie Green is located in the Brady Arts District in Downtown Tulsa. Its amenities include tree-lined paths, water features, The Dock pavilion, and a large lawn. The park offers a clean and breathtaking environment perfect for large events and festivities.
Due to its beautiful amenities and connection to the community, Guthrie Green has been recognized as one of the greatest places not just in Tulsa, but in the country. Recently, the American Planning Association declared Guthrie Green as one of its five “Great Public Places in America.”
Each year, the APA selects top places in the country offering “exceptional character, quality and planning.” These places may include neighborhoods, streets, and public places.
Guthrie Green will received official recognition during an APA ceremony on October 19. Meanwhile, a local ceremony will be held at Guthrie Green on October 15 at 11:30am with Tulsa officials and Victoria Bartlett, wife of Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett.
