Expert to Study Improvements in Downtown Tulsa
One way to bring in more tourists and enhance the economic development of a city is to make improvements to public services and programs, increase efficiency and convenience for quality of life standards, and offer attractions that make Tulsa a desirable place to live and visit. This includes things like better amenities, beautification, and better roads and highways.
In Tulsa, one of the areas in which the city wishes to improve is the walk ability of downtown. In order to fully maximize urban planning, Tulsa is working with an expert to study the city’s walk ability and looks for ways to improve it.
Jeff Speck is an urban designer, author, and city planning expert. He will be coming to Tulsa to conduct full-scale research and investigation to help the city determine where it currently stands, so it can begin working toward its goals for improving the area and making it thrive even more.
There are several aspects of downtown that need to be enhanced to improve walk ability. Speck will be talking with city officials, workers, residents, and e-business and property owners concerning the efficiency of the area. He will also investigate factors such as safety, use, and comfort.
Speck’s full study report will be completed and presented to the public early next year.
