Annual Germanfest in Tulsa This Weekend
If you love German culture or have family lineage originating there, you won’t want to miss the German American Society of Tulsa’s annual Germanfest celebration this weekend, April 29-May 1.
Germanfest is a huge celebration that is focused on the country’s traditions and culture. During the festival, there will be a number of activities and entertainment that will feature traditional German dances and German food and beer.
Entertainment at Germanfest will include the GAST Choir, folk dancers, Blaskapelle, and Polka bands. Specific entertainers set to hit the stage include Sepp Diepolder, Mach Schnell, Nick Bratkovich, Das ist Lustig, and German Air Defense SchuhPlattler.
Authentic German food and drinks will also be available, including Bratwurst, Schnitzel Dinner, and Jagerschitzel Dinner.
There will also be a variety of kid-friendly activities, including the crowning of the GAST Maikonigin, or May Queen.
Germanfest will be held on the lawn and in the Great Hall of the German American Society of Tulsa building. Admission to the event is free.
