Tulsa City Crews Start Clean-up Schedule After the Storm
The tornado that hit North Tulsa last week left behind damage on many properties. After a tornado, people find themselves left with uprooted trees, broken power lines, damaged roofs, and smashed cars. To help residents pick up the pieces after the storm, clean up crews from the City of Tulsa have been scheduled to begin removing debris and cleaning up the streets.
City of Tulsa Street Crews started to remove debris on Tuesday and will continue working until the project is finished. Wednesday.is trash and recycling day for many of the areas what were hit by the storm, so that will help with cleanup as well. By Saturday and Sunday, customers that use City of Tulsa utilities can take advantage of Free Landfill Days to dispose of additional garbage and debris. Those who are interested can drop by the Quarry Landfill from 7am to 3pm and present their utility bill or driver’s license to prove they live within city limits.
Next week, city street crews will do a final pass through for debris removal, and street sweeping has been scheduled for April 18 -22.
In order for street crews to remove debris, residents must place it within four feet of the curb, but not in the street or along trees, fire hydrants, and powerlines. The City of Tulsa is also accepting bulky waste collection at a fee of $10 per collection. Large items that do not normally fit into the city’s gray refuse carts are considered bulky waste.
