Housing 101 Offered in Tulsa
Community rules and regulations, as well as rights and responsibilities are important details for every citizen to know and understand. Certain rules are in place to maintain order within a community and to protect citizens from danger or being taken advantage of. At the same time, certain regulations are in place to protect the rights of business owners.
To create awareness of policies concerning housing, the Tulsa Health Department will be offering a free seminar to people involved in any aspect of the housing business. Tenants and landlords of apartments and other housing units are encouraged to attend.
Housing 101 will be a small workshop focusing on the various rules and regulations of housing. There will be a more detailed discussion on the Oklahoma Resident Landlord-Tenant Law as well as the Fair Housing Act. The International Property Maintenance Code will also be discussed during the workshop.
Participants of the workshop can voice their questions and concerns during a Q&A session. There will be representatives of the Tulsa Health Department and Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma to answer their questions.
Housing 101 will be held this Thursday, October 8, from 8:30am to 12:00pm at the Tulsa Health Department. It will be open to everyone.
