New Music Garden in Tulsa Offers Wheelchair-Friendly Fun for Children
Sometimes it can be difficult for children in wheelchairs to have fun playing in a park or playground if the terrain and equipment are not wheelchair-friendly. Instead of getting to engage with the other children, they are sometimes left watching from the sidelines. All kids should have the opportunity to play, however, and a new playground in Tulsa is being unveiled that is specially tailored to children with special physical needs.
The Special Kids Care Learning Center has unveiled its new wheelchair accessible music garden, where kids with wheelchairs can roam around and play without feeling hindered. The first phase of the playground has been finished thanks to the donations and efforts of several residents and local companies. The unveiling of the playground is an exciting thing indeed, but the Learning Center says that it has even bigger plans ahead. The playground will ultimately have a full-sized play set and new swings, which will be completely accessible to children in wheelchairs. The entire project is expected to be fully complete by the end of next summer.
