Reading and literacy are incredibly important skills when it comes to excelling in life. Although it is one of the most fundamental foundational elements of education, there are many children who struggle with reading or who need additional guidance to master their reading skills. Reading Partners, a national group that volunteers in schools to teach reading, focuses on fulfilling that need.
Reading Partners works in schools throughout the country, and according to its experience, it has named Tulsa as one of the best examples of the program’s success. There are more children in Tulsa who have received help in reading than any other city, and it has allowed them to progress to new levels in their reading skills.
Thanks to the Reading Partners program, children in Tulsa have shown an improvement in the efficiency of their reading skills. Students are three times faster in their reading skills when on the program.
