Different Uses of Charcoal at Home
Barbecue parties will always make us want to stop by a grocery store and buy a good bag of charcoal. But, did you know that charcoals have other uses than simply cooking our delicious steaks?
We can now find a good use to our charcoals than just throwing them away after use. This will make it more practical for us as such uses can actually make a difference on how we do things. Here below are some examples:
- Helps in keeping your tools from rusting. Adding some charcoal on your toolbox will help reduce moisture that will make your tools rust.
- As chalk for your kids. Now you have a black substitute for your chalk thanks to charcoal. Your kids can draw what they want or write notes for you on the sidewalk or pavements using charcoals.
- Reduces odor inside your refrigerator. Have a bad smell inside your refrigerator? Add some charcoal inside and the bad smell will be gone. This is because the charcoal will absorb the smell.
- Use as mulch on your compost. If you have a garden and are doing your own compost, add some charcoal on it to help keep the weeds out while retaining the moisture inside your compost. Charcoal also increases its carbon content so your pile will not smell like ammonia.
- Keep your flowers fresh. Adding some charcoal at the bottom of your vase to keep your flowers fresh.
- Conceal scratches on your dark wood. Line the charcoal on your dark wood where the scratches are found. It will easily conceal these, making them looking new.
