Tulsa Granted the 2015 Coca-Cola Foundation/Keep America Beautiful (KAB) Recycling Bin Grant Award
One way to reduce the amount of trash thrown into the city dump is to recycle materials that can still be useful. Although many people practice recycling these days, there are still many who fail to do so due to the lack of awareness and resources.
To encourage more citizens to recycle, the City of Tulsa will be placing recycling bins in various areas near homes and businesses throughout the city. This new endeavor has been made possible by the 2015 Coca-Cola Foundation/Keep America Beautiful (KAB) Recycling Bin Grant Award that Tulsa has been chosen to receive. The city will be awarded with 100 KAB branded blue recycling bins to be distributed throughout the city.
To-date, Tulsa has been encouraging recycling via more than 90 municipal recycling receptacles and facilities. There are recycling bins in many public spaces, making it very easy and accessible to citizens in the area. Now, with the 100 new bins from the grant, Tulsa will be able to more than double their public recycling outreach, adding receptacles to areas that currently have less access to recycling bins.
