Tulsa Plans Additional Tennis Courts at LaFortune Park
Playing sports has lots of benefits, and two of the most commonly sought-after ones are fitness and socializing. A lot of people do sports primarily for health and wellness, but there are a lot who also do it for the social engagement and interaction with their friends and other people with similar interests.
Tulsa offers a great venue for people who enjoy playing tennis. The La Fortune Park Tennis Center has 21 outdoor courts and 3 indoor courts that stay packed most of the time. To add more facilities to meet such high demand, the Tulsa County is considering adding additional tennis courts to the center, and thanks to a private donation, it looks like those plans will become a reality.
A $500,000 donation was recently given to Tulsa County and they are hoping to direct the money toward the construction of additional tennis courts. A donor has also pledged to pay off the construction of three additional indoor courts.
According to Tulsa County, the final costs and details of the plan are still underway. But, they are considering a fabric covered steel structure that can be heated and cooled. It will be located at the existing croquet field.
