Tulsa City-County Library Opens Doors for Working Teenagers this Summer
Many students are looking forward to summer vacation. No homework, no school projects, and just fun with their friends and family. While some teenagers prefer to relax and have no commitments, other teenagers prefer to work and do something productive.
This coming summer vacation, the Tulsa City-County Library is opening its doors for the annual “Teen Team” summer program. The summer program will give teenagers the opportunity to work and help out with their local libraries. This is also a great opportunity for teenagers who love reading and books.
Teen volunteers will be assigned to their local libraries to help with the children’s summer reading program. In addition to assisting with the reading program, teens will also be able to contribute to other tasks within the library.
Qualified teenagers for the volunteer program must be between 13 to 15 years old, and they must be able to commit to allocating a few hours every week to work. Once accepted, volunteers will receive their official 2016 Teen Team T-shirt to be used during work shifts. Applications are now being accepted at local libraries.
