New Bookstore Soon to Open in Downtown Tulsa
Books serve as inspiration to many people young and old. Literature has a way of capturing your heart and mind and inviting you to different worlds apart from your own. It connects what’s real with what’s imaginary, and reading can be a wonderful experience that expands your mind.
Every community needs good bookstores to give people access to books. Despite the closure of some bookstores in Tulsa, it never discouraged the Tulsa Literary Coalition to build a new one within the downtown area. Magic City Books will soon find its home in the Brady Arts District in Downtown Tulsa, and people are abuzz with excitement.
The Tulsa Literary Coalition has continually pursued its advocacy of providing literary programming in the community. Their goal is to push awareness of literature among the members of the community to keep the art form alive and thriving. Not only will Magic City Books provide that access to the public, but its profits will be donated to the coalition to help provide funding for their programs.
Construction of Magic City Books is set to start soon in an existing building that will be renovated to accommodate the new facility. It is expected to open in early 2017. The bookstore will include a wide range of literature, including popular authors like David Sedaris, Jonathan Franzen, Sir Salam Rushdie, and Ann Patchett.
