Goodwill’s TulsaWORKS Program Helping Residents Land Good Jobs
Landing a job can be difficult at times, especially if you are in a competitive work force and there are complex hiring processes. Applying for a job involves many steps, starting from filling out an application and sometimes taking an assessment exam to phone interviews and in-person interviews.
Goodwill of Tulsa’s TulsaWORKS is a program that offers resources to help Tulsans land good jobs and obtain quality employment to provide for themselves and their families. Through trainings on various skills and fields, participants can learn about ways to make themselves more competitive and stand out during the hiring process. The program also offers post-hiring trainings to help people retain and excel further in their jobs.
TulsaWORKS will soon be hosting a three-day fork-lift training program and a hotel hospitality program. Both fields have a demand for workers, as Tulsa continues to grow and develop at a rapid pace. The training program will educate applicants on the particular positions associated with each skill set, and offer them assistance in locating those positions and applying for the jobs. TulsaWORKS partners with area businesses to give applicants greater access to jobs.
TulsaWORKS has helped thousands of people in Tulsa get a job. Their programs include not only specific trainings, but also empowerment to help people build their confidence to believe that they are capable and worthy. The programs do have a registration fee, but for those who cannot afford the cost, TulsaWORKS can also help. For more information, visit www.goodwilltulsa.org/gwt/TulsaWorks3.asp
