Several Cooling Stations Open Their Doors in Tulsa
Extremely hot temperatures are common this time of year, and there are days when the heat is excruciating. Though many houses are equipped with proper cooling systems, there are many that are not, leaving their residents suffering from the heat without reprise.
This situation is what prompts several cooling stations to open their doors in Tulsa every year. A number of centers open their doors to people who are in need of a place to cool down, so they do not suffer negative health conditions like heat stroke.
The Salvation Army and Tulsa County Social Services are among the cooling centers available in the city. The Equaity Center also offers its building and services to those in need. The centers provide a relaxing and cool place for the people to escape the heat, as well as cold bottles of water to hydrate them. Volunteers and staff are present to provide any other assistance, especially to those who are already overheated.
Cooling stations will be open daily from 12pm to 9pm during extreme heat conditions this summer.
