Tulsa Health Department Offers Free Water Testing for Tulsa County Residents
Clean water is an extremely important resource to have access to. Our bodies need to consume clean water regularly in order to stay hydrated. We use it for bathing and cleaning our dishes and clothes. Unfortunately, due to recent flooding and trash landing in the main water source, the Tulsa water supply may be at risk of contamination.
To help Tulsa residents ensure that the water they are consuming is clean, the city will be providing free well water testing to all qualified residents. The Tulsa Health Department’s environmental water lab will be offering the service.
In order to take advantage of this free service, residents will need to bring proof of their residency in Tulsa County. They will then need to get a collection bottle from the lab itself in order to obtain a sample of their water at home. Water brought inside any other containers will not be tested. Participating residents will need to collect the water samples on ice and return them to the lab quickly after collection. For drinking water, samples must be returned within 30 minutes.
Samples can be returned to the lab anytime during operating hours, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Non-Tulsa County residents can use the service as well, but will be required to pay a fee.
