Tulsa’s Most Anticipated Events for January
The New Year comes with a new set of fabulous events to enjoy in Tulsa! The good news is, there’s something for everyone. Read on for a list of events and activities to look forward to in January.
- Tulsa Flea Market, Super Duty Arena at Expo Square (Saturday, Jan 3). This 50,000-square-feet open flea market is home to the bargains of your dreams. It features an eclectic array of antiques, collectibles, memorabilia, vintage items, primitives, records, furniture, crafts, jewellery, books, and much more from vendors across Oklahoma and surrounding states. According to their website, there is, “No admission. No hype. Just good stuff for good people.”
- “Simple Steps for Starting Your Business: Start-up Basics” – Hardesty Regional Library’s Pecan Room (Thursday, Jan 8th). If you are trying to start your own business, this event is for you. This business workshop brought to you by SCORE will help you prepare a blueprint for turning your business dreams in realities. Get the help you need from the SCORE experts and learn the essentials of creating a successful business start-up. SCORE is “a nationwide volunteer association dedicated to helping individuals intending to start small businesses, and those already in business desiring to excel”. The event will begin at 6:30 PM.
- Tulsa Playboys at the Cain’s Ballroom, 6 p.m. (Friday, Jan 16). Let the Tulsa Playboys take you back to the 40’s! The band features triple fiddles, horns, piano, steel and standard guitars and electric mandolin. This event is for all ages. Tickets start at $6, though students under the age of 18 can purchase tickets at the door for $5.
- “Varekai” Cirque Du Soleil at the BOK Center, 7:30 p.m. ( Jan 21 – 25). The BOK Center will be transformed into a mystical jungle for Cirque du Soleil’s latest tour stop in Tulsa. Cirque du Soleil will tell the story of Varekai, an ancient prophecy set deep in a strange jungle at the base of a volcano, in a fantastical and breath-taking performance. Cirque du Soleil is known for high-flying acrobatics, colourful sets, and engaging storytelling.
