The Basics of Home Staging
Staging your first home? There are many considerations to bear in mind, the most important of which are home furnishings. Here is an essential home furnishing guide to keep you on the right track.
- High Quality Bed. As you might have known, one third or more of our 24-hour day is spent in our bed. A quality bed’s comfort and style can be determined by its firmness, surface and size. Find the bed that speaks not only to the decor of the room, but your personality.
- A comfy and stylish sofa. There are a lot of sofa varieties available in many different styles, shapes, costs and fabrics. Go for the one that jives well with your preferences as well as the home’s design. The sofa is very important, since the living room doesn’t become a living room if the sofa is not present. The sofa is the place where people sit and spend time chatting with each other, making it a central feature. Wooden chairs might be affordable and durable, but it is preferable to have upholstered chairs since they are much comfortable. Arm chairs are very luxurious and can easily be relocated for extra seating in other areas of the room.
- Adequate Lighting. Harsh overhead lighting is to be avoided. Dimmers are a great option to install in every wall switch. This is important in small older homes that often have harsh overhead lighting. Lighting options, such as table lamps and floor lamps should be placed near seating arrangements. A lamp can be placed on a corresponding pair of tables. Wall mounted lamps are suitable beside beds.
- Durable chest of drawers. A chest of drawers is important because of its diverse functionality. It may be placed in the bedroom for clothes storage, the bathroom for linens and supplies, the living room for books, and the hallway for hats.
