Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame Presents a Jazz Night with Kinky Friedman
It’s going to be a fun night of jazz music and satire this Friday with Kinky Friedman at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame!
Kinky Friedman is country singer, songwriter, and humorist from Texas, who is known for his satirical band and performances. Over the years Friedman has released a number of songs with controversial messages that have sparked strong responses from many groups.
He started performing with his first band in 1966, creating funny surf music. He then formed his second band in 1971, and in 1974, he released his self-titled first album under ABC Records. He joined Bob Dylan on the second tour leg of the Rolling Thunder Revue in 1976, and he has been going strong ever since with his funny social commentaries on stage.
Come join Kinky Friedman for a fun evening at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame this Friday, October 17, at 8pm. The concert will benefit the organization’s educational programs.
