Common AC Unit Problems
Air conditioning units are very important home utilities that are especially vital during winter. Unfortunately, as all utilities tend to do, AC unites are prone to malfunction from time-to-time. Below are listed the common air conditioning unit problems:
- 1. The AC unit does not run smoothly. This frustrating problem is one of the worst issues met by homeowners with AC units. Did you know that one of the major reasons for this issue stems from the simple lack of power available to run the unit? The next time your air conditioner does not turn on at all, check the breaker, which is commonly turned off at the beginning of the summer. If it is turned off, then simply turn it on.
- 2. Not enough cool air, This time, your air conditioning unit does not produce cool air but warm air instead. As frustrating as it sounds, this is a common problem met by some AC unit owners.
- 3. Compressor Failure. The compressor has terminals where electrical wires are linked to produce electrical currents, which are required to run the compressor. There are cases in which wires overheat, resulting in damage and further complicating the compressor failure. To solve this problem, the entire compressor itself should be replaced. This may be very costly, and repair options should always be considered over complete replacement.
Always remember that it is wise to only conduct DIY projects on your air conditioning unit if you are equipped with the correct knowledge and skills. If not, then simply leave the job to the experts.
