The Scissortail Wine Festival
Are you a lover of wine? If so, then you aren’t going to want to miss the upcoming Scissor tail Wine Festival in Claremore! The event will be taking place on the afternoon of Saturday, July 19th, at the Expo Center of Claremore.
The Tulsa region has become known for its growing wine industry, and several vineyards and wineries will be represented at the event. The wineries at the Scissortail Wine Festival will include Stable Ridge winery, Okie Ozark winery, Oak Hills winery, Summer Side Vineyards, Wakefield Country Inn and Winery, The Woods and Waters Winery and Vineyard, Diamond Head winery, Blue Coyote winery, Plymouth Valley Cellars, The Native Spirits winery, and Whispering Meadows Vineyards and winery.
Aside from wine, other activities will be taking place as well. Food and coffee vendors will be set up on site. The RSU art department and The Three Rivers Artists will display their artwork and crafts inside. The Route 66 Cruisers Car Club will also be descending upon the area, showing cars both inside and outside the Expo Center.
Here are a few great tips to help you maximize your enjoyment of the wine festival:
- Line up a designated driver in advance, so you do not risk harming yourself or others by drinking and driving. If you don’t have anyone who can take you home safely after the event, don’t drink too much. You can simply taste the wines and spit them out into buckets that will be available.
- Sample wines from each different region, so you can get a feel for their similarities and differences.
- Ask questions. There are many processes that go into wine making, and it is fun and interesting to learn about them.
Tickets are only $20, and each guest will receive a monogrammed tasting glass, a plate of food for tasting, and 10 wine tokens. Additional wine tokens can be purchased at the event.
